Some have more patience than others. We really want to get you on the road but you seem to resist every suggestion. I watched your video a couple of times. It shows the engine cranking fast enough to start at first then slows down which is normal to a point. Your starter may be dragging more than it should but the only way to test it is with the proper instruments. You put the engine at TDC on the compression stroke, if not exact, close enough to start, and put the rotor pointing to #1. It fired and ran until you tried to rev the engine and it backfired and quit. In your very first post you said the engine had been running fine for several months until the distributor went bad. You replaced the distributor and it again ran fine for a while. The common thread is the distributor. I suggested several posts ago that a component was heating up and shutting down the ignition. I still believe this could very well be the problem. Aftermarket distributors bought off evilbay are notorious for being defective. My final suggestion is to go by your local salvage yard and get a distributor off an older (vacuum advance) GM V8 that is known to run and swap it into your truck. If that doesn’t work swallow your pride and find a real mechanic shop to test everything. Now, like Jerry, I’m out.
