Well after 16 or more years of just sitting in the corner of the shop my truck is finally getting much deserved attention. The truck is starting to look alive. Last night my son and I installed the bedsides to the bed that I worked many weeks this winter to make beautiful! The new oak boards were stained Old Masters Dark Mahogany penetrating Stain and then finished with 4 coats of Marine varnish! Wood finishing is a forte of mine.

The gas tank was moved to the back of the bed and I had installed a flush mount gas fill in the wood. With the panels being painted Mystic Green and the Mahogany stain oh my; oh my.

Could hardly sleep last night. Had to get up and go look at it twice. More excited than a new puppy finding his tail.

Next week the fenders. One fender is dished out to handle the spare tire and yes I have the original spare tire carrier.

Good luck with yours!

Pops
