A buddy of mine has a 1950 3100 truck that is running the stock 216 but converted to 12volts. He just replaced his flywheel when he did a clutch job because it was chewed to hell. He replaced it with 139 tooth ring gear. He now has a weird gear whine when he engages the starter but no gear clash. How many teeth on the starter should he have? When he changed to 12v he got rid of the stomp starter. My thought is he has a starter in there that wants a 168 tooth flywheel. Am I wrong??
Thanks in advance,
Steve
