I have new blocks for the cab as well and had thought about cutting the blocks down ( and dipping them in preservative). I have looked over lots of pictures of the 40 trucks and the running board seems quite tight to the cab. There were no bed blocks left when I got the truck so I am unsure wether the wood blocks are the right height. I will measure several more times before I decide to cut anything. THanks for your imput ( you don't have any shots of yours finished by chance, showing the gap ?)
