i think , others may have more expierience , but i would remove the whole thing .
reason 1 you will get a look under the seal for any creeping rust an fix it before it gets worse, Eastwoods encapsulater works great for this .
reason 2 i dont think youll be bale to get the 1 pane of glass back in , the windshield was made to be installed as a unit .
