The adapter kit bolts in using the old bolts from the original master. The MC mounting surface faces towards the rear of the truck. The MC then mounts to it from the back side.
We mounted the adapter bracket first and then attempted to lift up the dual master and it was obvious there was going to be clearance issues with the rear transmission cross member. Has anyone ever installed one of these before?
We had a different truck a few years ago that was titled as a 1951 but had all the 1952 characteristics. We installed the exact same kit without issue on that truck. Now, in hind site, that truck had a different rear end, a 235 and I'm assuming a different transmission. This truck has the stock rear end, torque tube, etc. It does have a 235 also. Not sure if transmission is original.
So, is there a difference in cross members in a 1951 and 1952?
