Please share your insights regarding an effective method to continue to use the
Rear Spring Seats on a torque tube axle housing converted to an open drive shaft.
The torque tube spring seats have a vulcanized rubber insert to allow motion as the springs compress and rebound.
You will need to eliminate this motion when you go with an open drive shaft. They can be welded to eliminate this movement, but the heat from the welding can cause the rubber to burn and contaminate your weld.
