I also have a 1980s Camaro T5 with an S10 tail housing. It runs behind a 1964 230ci in my 1965 C10 with 3.73 rear.
Highway speeds are a breeze. The 2.95 first gear is the same gear my factory 3 speed had for first gear.
My website link is in the signature at the bottom. The steps to install the T5 should be pretty straightforward. My bell sits on a factory cross member. I’m not sure what your setup is.
