on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 | So Pete. The dana 44 was used by GM in the front of 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks from 1960-1977. It came in a variety of configurations and is rated at 3300-3800 # . Just depends. So an adapter is no big issue. But... the ho110 ratio is a big deal. Basically if you want a 46 1-1/2 ton 4x4 you need to build a clone. That is use a 63-72 gm 3/4 ton leaf spring rear. Add a narrowed d44 3/4 ton up front. Uses 8 lug dual wheels from 73-2007. And be happy. You can use a variety of 14 bolts from 73 up. But more fabbing is required. If you wanted you could use 60-70 front drum brakes on any gm axle and not even change master cylinders. I could talk about how do do this for hours. Because I have done it a lot of different ways... | | |
