It does have a lower first gear. But OD would be useless. So you would want to consider that. I will add. I never use a 350 or 400 turbo any longer. Set up an overdrive auto is just more versatile. I also now am moving onto the electronic controlled 4l60e -4l80e in my projects. Even behind non computer controlled engines. That's not for everyone though. That's why the 700r4 is still popular. Also I build a lot of vintage 4x4 trucks. And use a 4l80e almost exclusively. With a stand alone controller I can create a number of different shift styles. From a hard hitting strip profile to soft as warm butter cruiser. Finally if you have a tire in the 27-28 inch height that 3.08 is a little tall still IMO. I prefer 3.43-3.54.
