| Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,807 | The engine we just built up at Stovebolt headquarters was a high water pump block, with a casting date of 1959, and main bearing bores machined for the late model type bearings with anti rotate tabs for the upper bearings at the parting line. It gave us a few headaches because we had ordered mains for the early style block. I believe it also had an oil line under the pushrod cover. Don't assume anything about these oldtimers! Jerry
