There needs to be a threaded jack screw in the center of the puller to push against the end of the crankshaft. The hole in most balancers is about 3/4" in diameter (19MM) so the jackscrew needs to be a 5/8" SAE thread. (16MM-1.5 or so if you're using metric taps and dies).
