With fear and trembling I shrugged off Jerry's best advice. But the hb is off and no stripped threads. I have been spraying WD40 on the area all day, I had cleaned the threads and lubed the two bolts. I ended up making two center spacers of different lengths to be able to pull gently over the length of the removal. And I had already inflicted a considerable amount of tension on those threads already while pulling against that big bolt to no purpose, and I tried not to torque on the bolts as hard as I already had on the first failed attempt.
