I’ve torn the engine down and I’m fairly confident I have a ’53 235 full pressure with a ’59 head. (engine also has “Capt’s Bars" & 18 head bolts).
But what’s “throwing me a curve” is this engine has Solid Lifters…?? (see attached photo) From what everyone says (and I’ve read), it should have Hydraulics.
Question: Are the Lifters interchangeable? Could someone (at some point) have changed them out....??
