The climate is so humid in my area that we nearly need to mow the shady side of the house from the green funk which grows on it.
Small engine and boat engine shops stay very busy due to water in fuel and rubber deterioration here.
I agree with the possibility that relative humidity plays a part in the break down of whatever is in the fuel which is sold these days.
