Around here concrete is running $6/sq ft for flatwork. Goes up if it has beams/piers or is more than 4" thick. $100/yd for material before padwork and labor. Doesn't take much to drop some serious cash. Plus, its not like you can "fix" a bad pour, so you need someone who can form and finish it right. Which costs more. For me, I'll pay extra for someone that I can trust to do it right. I had a discount guy pour one for me. Never never never again. Rushed the finish, broke forms too early, didn't turn out how I had hoped.
I need a 6" slab poured with beams in an area about 40'x60'. For that job, I'm going to rent a machine, bring in the fill and prepare the pad myself, form and lay steel in it and just hire someone to pour and finish.
