Thanks everyone. Your advice has really been a big help. I think I am going to tig weld the seam solid a section at the time, then smooth with filler. Also, has anyone had problems with the sheetmetal sagging on each side of the center strip at the rear of the hood? My hood has this problem, but it isn't mounted on the truck yet. Should the sheetmetal level out once it is able to rest on the hood to cowl seal? Thanks again for your help.
