One thing that helped me was I had the old vacuum motor and would hold it in the appx position it would be under the dash to see where the arms would attach and then try to get the linkage on the electric motor in the same position. But it still took a few tries. I couldn't get a full sweep, but finally got the maximum sweep once it was set.
