We have in shop right now a 49 Studebaker with a Nova clip, a 52 AD with a Nova clip, a 53 Ford with a Volare clip, and a 57 TF with a CE MII clip; all will ride and drive nice with discs and power brakes. With that said my wife's 64 Ford short wide fishing truck with a straight axle also drives straight and true and rides a bit more harsh but it IS a truck. The front axle was completely gone through and along with the shackles and king pins the spring eye bushings, front and rear, were replaced. It has the Toyota p/s box and caster has been increased 4 degrees which lets you drive with no hands on the wheel if necessary---it won't wander. Power drum brakes, a/c, and an automatic lets her seek out fishing holes near and far. Both ways can work just fine.
