I would like to brush on a white or light grey paint and I want the brush strokes to be as dominate as possible. Top this with a sprayed on black, then block sand to expose the highest strokes of the white paint. I imagine a crosshatched patern depending on how I do the brushing. After the sanding, spray on a satin clear coat. Will this work? The paint store guy thought I was nuts when I asked for an additive to thicken the paint and prevent flow. Does anyone have any adivce on the type of paint I might try, how to get the definite brush strokes, what kind of brush to use etc? I want to protect the truck and get an unconventional but smooth, satin look. I know I need to just experiment but maybe someone out there can guide me some. I have it primed in urathane.
