Having discussed, recently, the installing of door locks, on a 51, that use the turn down style exterior handles, I have a question.

Intent is to have a door lock on both doors. Drivers side, I have fabricated the new latch to work with the new door lock. Passenger side latch comes ready to accept the lock, although I have not installed the lock yet.

Question I have is this: Holding the new door lock in my hand, key facing vertical (think 12 o'clock position), it will turn left to 9 o'clock, stops there, but the key WILL NOT come out. If you turn the key the other way to 3 o'clock, it stops there, and the key WILL NOT come out. Go back to 12 o'clock, and you can remove the key. Shaft turns in tandem with the lock cylinder. Logic tells me this ain't working correctly. This make any sense?
