Here's what I found today. I should have mentioned the grill I'm using is a reproduction. Another case of reproduction not the same as OEM. Anyway when I laid the repro alongside an original, it was obvious. The OEM grill bars slope toward the ground when installed. The repro does not. Each bar is welded at the out frame as original. The first thing I did to correct the shape was to screw the grill to the table. Then clamped a stack of 2 x 6's to the table about 8" gap from the grill. I've got a small scissor jack that I then put against the 2 x 6's and the center bar and forced the grill into position. I've got one remaining issue for tomorrow. I have to resolve why I can fit the grill on the truck except that the upper screw hole on each side does not match up to the grill.
