There has been mention in this thread that the 1949 Carter W-1 accelerator pump is hard or impossible to get. Do accelerator pumps fail often or after several years or a few years? I have had a 1949 Carter W-1 on my 216 since I got it. (2007) A previous owner had installed it at some point. I bought a rebuilt one from Chevs of the 40s around 2008. Thanks again for any information that helps me understand the discussion better.
