Other than making a sandwich, the only trick I know with bread is holding back a slow drip when soldering copper pipe.
To get a bushing out of a blind hole, you could pack it with grease and tap a close fitting punch/shaft into the hole. The grease should drive it out of the hole. Might be a little messy if the punch to bushing ID is not real close, but wrapping a rag around it should prevent (or at least contain) a grease explosion.
Jerry's trick with a tap should work too, if you have the right size tap.
[on edit] just googled a "bread to remove pilot bearing" video. HUH? who would figure. Basically the same principle as the grease trick, but possibly less messy. I suppose you could use Pla-Doh or any other similar substance as well. Another learning experience.
