Agreed Hotrod. My old 235 and 261 both sometimes would require me to open the throttle a bit wile starting it once hot. I got so used to doing that it was second nature to hold the throttle open with the same foot I was pressing the starter button with.
Especially since it had the old Rochester carb on it.
Once running they both ran fine.
