OK- - - - -that sounds like the beginning of a throwout bearing failure. The imported bearings being sold these days have virtually no lubricant in them, and it's not uncommon for one to get noisy pretty quickly. It makes sort of a "swishing" noise when the clutch pedal is depressed, and the noise goes away as soon as the pedal is released and the bearing stops turning. It's mostly annoying- - - -a slightly noisy throwout bearing will last a long time as long as there's a slight amount of free play at the top of the pedal stroke so the bearing doesn't run all the time. If it begins to grind, squeal, or rattle, it's time for a new (American-made) bearing.
