It was a little awkward but I was able to get on my back in my 54 and change the vacuum motor out for an electric one from underneath last year. As stated, removing and replacing was easy. The most difficult part was getting my 6' 240# frame out from under the dash and slithering across the floor and out the door. It was not a pretty site and probably would have scared small children had they seen my twisting and squirming. I wish I had thought of the glove box trick.
