The tank you are describing, I believe is the one illustrated in the Assembly Manual, Section 8, Sheet 1.06. You are correct, my 53 does not have the tube coming out of the sending unit. It just has the drain, with petcock on the bottom. Hopefully, somebody has done this before me and can give me some guidance.
