Dave....I now understand that the drive gear does "not have to press fit " as I had heard on youtube.
On close inspection I saw that the 1" bolt that holds the yoke to the main shaft was missing. I did not remember removing it but I must have. That missing bolt explains a lot and may cure my problem of the drive gear not lining up with the driven gear...the drive gear looks buggered up so I may need to obtain a new one if available.....I Will keep you posted.
