I'm asking this question simply out of curiosity. Today I looked at a 1955.2 one owner GMC half ton that has sat in a shed for about thirty years.
I was surprised to see that it had both a push button and a stomp starter. The starter had a solenoid attached to it that the push button was wired to. The stomp starter went through what appeared to be a factory cut hole in the floor and the linkage was all connected to the starter. Both were rigged to be operable. Both the push button in the dash and the stomp starter looked like factory installed equipment.
Did they come this way from the factory?
