| | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | A two-bolt-pair "retainer plate" (lock) that was thinner than most lock washers was used early (at least thriugh 1954) stovebolt flywheels, and the bolt had a thinner head than on a "standard" hex head bolt. This thin-head bolt and star washer produces/results-in a thin profile. Those two-hole lock-plates were used through at least 1954. After that, the same thin-headed bolt was continued, but it looks like a thin lock washer became the standard bolt-lock. | | |
