110VAC works fine. If you have a tool rental place near you they typically have the small wire feed welders for rent. I have also seen them in HomeDespot for rent but they are set up for flux core and a gas rig would be better for sheetmetal.
If you have a significant amount of work to do then go buy a rig for around $400 you can get a Clarke model welder from Harbor Freight and go buy your own bottle for shielding gas from your local welding supply. Once you are done you can sell it and get most if not all your $$ back. At least that is how I got a green light from my management. It would be better to go with a lincoln 135 Amp welder though instead of the Clarke just from the resale aspect. Clarke is not the highest quality but will get the job done for you at least for one or two projects.
