I know what you mean. When I did the 3.55 rear gear conversion on my '36 pickup both the VCCA and the 1936 Chevy Owners' Forum asked me to do a write up with pictures. I don't have the computer skills to post an illustrated story but I sent it to them and they both posted it:

Several guys contacted me saying they wouldn't do such a conversion but they enjoyed reading about it. That's how I felt after reading about the insert bearing conversion. It was too late for me because my engine had just been completed the old fashioned way but it was still a fun read.

No matter the subject, whether in personal life, work or hobby stuff, there is always new and interesting stuff to learn. Right now, at age 72, I'm learning new stuff about brakes doing a tandem master cylinder conversion on my '36.
