Hy Lionelgee, you are correct you will need a solenoid type starter from an early fifties automatic equipped car (six volt). The existing flywheel will work with the new starter providing the ring gear is in good condition. You can keep your ignition switch and add a push button to activate the solenoid. The stomp starter system will probably work they lasted for years, good luck whichever way you decide to go.
