Hello Stovebolters,

I have a 1940 Chevrolet truck that I am restoring. I have yet to have the engine running so I do not know if the pedal start works.

My first thoughts are that it would mean fitting a different:
* starter motor;
* a fly wheel that has a ring gear fitted;
* a new ignition switch - or button with a new wiring circuit.

What else would be involved in the conversion?

My truck is a 1940 3 ton tray back (Australia) stake side or flat bed (US?)

What year, model, and parts numbers would I be after to make the conversion?

Is it also worth the effort and expense to do so?

Kind Regards
Lionel
