Are you talking about the "whiskers" that go on the window frame? The window frame that comes out of the door and is usually chromed?
Those were stapled in, I screwed mine with a tiny sheet metal screw. The channel that goes around the door, again, screwed it in. I think those originally did have a U shaped metal clip that surrounded the channel so it would hook into the door when installed.
