I'm fitting my splash aprons and running boards to the fender/bed, how close should the splash apron fit to the bottom of the bed side? I think there should be a 1/4" gap or so to prevent rubbing? I bolted them to the rear fender and running board with that amount of gap but when I try to bolt on the long bracket for the splash apron to running board, it will pull it down to have something like a 2" gap or more.
Is there something I'm missing? It seems if the splash apron is bolted to the rear fender with the tab and it has a good amount of small gap (about 1/4") the bracket should fit to the running board also?
