There are only 4 bolts holding the hood on, Go ahead and unbolt those with help from another person; Lift the hood away and set it away safely.
Invest in getting a Load Leveler to help angle the engine into the bay. It will be possible with everything else in tact. Like Martin says, get some furniture moving blanks too.
