I seldom pull a hood to replace an engine. I remove the front hinge bolts & loosen the rear & tip the hood back. Or remove the front hood bolts & loosen the rear & put a block of wood between the hinge & hood to tip it back. When you work by yourself you can't be handleing that heavy stuff by yourself. If you have the trans on it it is a different story.
