I bought a pair of HF welding gloves - figured what the heck for $6. First time I used them, I noticed a hole in the right index finger. Wasn't too big, so being the cheapskate I am, I sewed it up. Used them again today and there's another finger with a hole in it. Went and bought a decent pair from the local hardware. Maybe I'll use the HF ones for kneeling pads - or maybe I'll toss them.
If you're still working and in a workplace where practical jokes are the norm, you can always fill them with grease and leave them laying around to see if a coworker "borrows" them.......
