Was looking on the shelf at Menards the other day and
noticed that the bargain Flap Disc that they stocked
looked a bit more stout than the ones that I had bought
a week before at Harbor Freight.

thin HF disc you're really only getting a small portion
of what you get by buying a good one for a couple of
bucks more.
Same thing on their PSA 9" discs I bought for my belt/disc
sander. 80 grit from Menards has a thick backing, lots of
grit, lasted for weeks and the peel paper was wax that
came off easy.
The ones from HF are paper thin, the grit only lasts a few
minuets you can't remove the peel paper, that is, if there
is any, so you have to spray them with 3m adhesive to use
them. I don't think the Chinese know what "PSA" is supposed
to mean.
