The tranny bolted up to the bell housing on my 1956/57 235. The cross member has not (so far) gotten in the way. The dive shaft is kaput I need a new shaft built with a slip yoke no surprise there. The speedo looks like it will plug right in. The exhaust pipe will need to be kicked over as the SM 420 is a bit wider than he old three speed. Novak built a beautiful SM420 it's a latter model there is a back up switch on the top.They used SS bolts on the case and machined a beautiful plate to cover the PTO which I didn't need. So far so good but I'll let you know how the swap goes. For those of you who might want to do this swap.
