| | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,272 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,272 | You have a choice when your DPF is clogged. Buy a new one, or pay to have it cleaned. They are the diesel version of the catalytic converter except that they are more prone to clogging up.
A shop by me just set up the necessary equipment to perform the cleaning procedure. It has a kiln and a 120 CFM rotary air compressor, neither of which are inexpensive. They can still clean yours for less than what a new DPF costs and I believe that you can have them cleaned a number of times.
