So my 235 is in pieces, waiting for a space to rebuild it. In the mean time, I want to paint it. Can a decent job be done with plastikote spraycans? I already sprayed the valve cover to see how it would do, and it looks great, but the coating is soft...it scratches and chips pretty easily. Might that be because I painted it in October in Vermont, when the temperature-while sunny-was about 48+/- and it hasn't cured yet? Will it harden by curing? Can I cure it by sticking in front of my woodstove hot air blower? I'm broke (all my moolah went into machining and parts for the block...I haven't even been able to get the head back from the shop yet.....how come nobody told me this was such an expensive project???), and the $4 cans are quite tempting...can I get a good, hard, lasting coating with them?
