The problem with the old springs is, they get weak where the driver's butt sits. You replace the ones under the driver with new ones, now they are poking you in the butt and the ones next to them are not as strong or hi so, you end up replacing all or most of them. Some guys have been able to put a piece of carpet over the springs to stiffen it up and even it out but, I have not tried that myself. I may try that on my 55 just for kicks for moving it around the yard (easier on the butt than a 5 gallon bucket!). I went with foam in my 59 Suburban and have been using it as a daily driver for the last 15-16 years. | | |
