It was going to the scrapper if I didn't take it. Got it home and snapped a picture of the casting number on the RH side of the crankcase. (3836340) [IMG]http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn214/jfnar/57%20chevy%203800/IMG_0340_zpsbkhj1abe.jpg[/IMG]According to the casting number buster listed in the post above this is a 261 engine but there is only one captain's bar above the starter. Can anyone verify if this really is a 261? It hasn't run in a few years but it turns over and I will definitely bring it back to life if it's a 261. Thanks for any help you can provide.
