#6. If the original key switch was bypassed when you got it, it is possible something is wrong with the contacts inside the switch. With the key switch on the "on" position, that should be supplying voltage to your coil(If internal resistor)or through your ballast resistor to the coil (12v to the resistor, should drop to about 9v at the coil). That is where I would start looking. If you have power to the coil (+ terminal) then make sure the points are opening and closing properly. The points make or break the connection to ground (completing the circuit for the coil, or disrupting it causing spark)
