I wouldn't suggest any lube at the cable/speedo head connection, just need to make sure the speedo unit is quite clean inside [tech tip for TF speedos] - the cable itself should also be cleaned, inner and outer, and a bit of dry graphite wiped on the inner when it's re-inserted
