Great project . Lots of clever thought gone into that.

Looks overly complicated to do economically .

I find the drop lock latch works great for me , also , I cut the rubber sleeve that covers the chain into 2 pieces , so the chain hangs vertical , the sleeve still protects the paint and the chain still holds the tailgate level when lowered.
