Steve, did your vented valve cover come off a regular car engine, or a Corvette engine?
I also agree with you that the vented cover is hard to find.
They had a short production run, and some 54/55st owners get/got rid of them (thinking it will result in a noticeably cleaner engine).
I buy them when I see them (or, I trade an unvented for a vented).
